Obituary

The world is so much darker today with the light and joy gone that Patricia Lynne Schroeder Frechette brought into many lives.  Our beloved Pat, 82, Weyauwega, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, April 16, 2023. She was the first daughter born to Erich and Elnora (Gallow) Schroeder in Appleton, WI.  She married Aron B. Claassen in 1960.  They had four children, Mark, Lynne, Bill and Ben.

She married Lyle Frechette in Weyauwega on July 18, 1994, he preceded her in death on September 26, 2006.

Pat worked for many years at Community First Credit Union, Waupaca, doing work she enjoyed and making life-long relationships.  She was a constant volunteer at her church; delivering Meals on Wheels for many years with her dear friend, Priscilla Bartel.

Prior to returning to her hometown, Weyauwega she spent years in both Arizona and Montana, raising her family and making cherished friends.

Our world isn’t as sweet either without our Pat.  She was a baker extraordinaire; her cinnamon rolls were legendary.  Both family traditions and recipes were important to her, especially her mom’s and Grandmother’s Blitz Tortes and Kuchen.  She also had a green thumb, always looking for the ideal plant to compliment her beautiful gardens.  And much to her chagrin the deer also enjoyed her gardens.  She was also known to have encounters with a squirrel or two, toting a BB gun.

She so much enjoyed her China painting sessions on Wednesdays at Dawn’s Hi-Style.  As a result, family and friends benefitted by the gifts of many of her painting projects.  Those painting women became close, dear friends.

Two life events changed Pat forever, one tragically sad and the other joyfully happy.  Her son, Mark’s tragic accident left a hole in her and her life.  When Morgan, at age 2, came into her life and made her a grandmother and then her beloved Reilly was born, she beamed with love and pride once again.  A remarkable relationship would bloom, one she fostered ever so lovingly.

Pat is survived by her children: Lynne (Kevin Reeder), Bill, both of the Bitteroot Valley, Montana; Ben (Billie) and her granddaughters, Morgan (Corey) and Reilly Wynn (Conner), Fremont.  She is further survived by her siblings: Gloria King, Marlene Mielke Field (William), Sharon Rutter, Sandra Claussen (Raymond), William (‘Willy’), sisters in law Gwynn Schroeder and Mel Timm, as well as loving nieces and nephews, and friends whom she cherished and her church family at First United Methodist Church of Waupaca.

The Celebration of Life will be on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 720 Demarest Ave, Waupaca, with Rev. Ann Spindt Henschel officiating, whom Pat asked to eulogize her.   The visitation will be on Friday at the Church from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. A private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega.

Special thanks to Theda Care Hospice and Park Vista, Waupaca for their special care.
