Norbert Karpinski Obituary

Norbert C. Karpinski, of Neenah, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.  He was born in Chicago, IL on November 9, 1933 to Teofil and Gertrude (Lucas) Karpinski. In June of 1958, he was united in marriage to Helen Zenisek and together they had five children. In March of 1976, he was united in marriage to Laurel Jones and together they had one son.  Norbert was the most devoted husband and dedicated family man.

Norbert honorably served his country with the US Navy during the Korean War.  He enjoyed time spent in Florida and Hawaii during his service time, and shared stories of his exploits and adventures.  He lived in Neenah for most of his adult life and worked as an industrial electrician for almost 40 years.  He loved hanging out with his family during deer season and playing some spirited Pinochle games.  He also enjoyed fishing.  Bowling and golfing were other hobbies he enjoyed.  Conflicted in interest, he was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan.  Norbert was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He will be dearly missed by his children: Robert (Karen) Karpinski of Waupaca, Tom (Lisa) Karpinski of Neenah, Carol (Randy) Hearn of FL, Sue (Dave) Briley of SC, Linda (Larry) Ross of FL, and Andrew Karpinski (fiancee, Robyn) of Plymouth; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren with one on the way.  Norbert is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and long-time friend, Jerry Alferi.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laurel, brother, Arthur Karpinski and his parents.

The memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, with Pastor Philip Thompson officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Military honors will follow the service and Norbert will be laid to rest alongside his parents and brother at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Waupaca.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Moments Hospice Care and Dimensions Living Appleton with special thanks to Tina.
