John "Jack" Brandt Obituary

John “Jack” E. Brandt, of Waupaca, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at home.  He was born in Chicago on September 5, 1930 to the late Bernard and Dorothy (Gralen) Brandt. Jack was united in marriage to Beverly Thompson, and she preceded him in death just 51 days ago. He was a proud Army veteran, serving at the end of the Korean War from 1953-1955.  Jack was vice president of sales for a cord and cable manufacturing company. He was also extremely proud to be a fireman with the Chicago Fire Department.  Jack enjoyed golfing and rooting on his home teams, the Chicago Bears and the Cubs.

Survivors include his children: Sue Vignovich; Kathy (Jeremy) Lee, Bernard (Julie) Brandt; Charlene (Brian) Brandt; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Donald) Hoppe; and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, a son-in-law, Scott Vignovich, and a brother, Richard (Noreen) Brandt.

There will be a Celebration of Life to honor both Jack and Beverly at a later date at their home in Waupaca.
