Joel H. Johnson, age 89, of Amherst Junction, passed away peacefully at home, with family at his side, on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. He was born in Waupaca on April 30, 1933 to Clarence and Evelyn (Jorgenson) Johnson. On March 22, 1958, he was united in marriage to Theresa Garski.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. He thoroughly enjoyed his job with the Soo Line Rail Road, eventually retiring as an assistant foreman. His grandchildren brought him much joy and he loved to spend time with all of them. Joel liked watching and supporting his Wisconsin teams - the Packers and the Brewers. No one was a stranger long to him as he was quite the conversationalist and also quite the jokester.
