Gene M. Oldakowski

Age 63, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021.  He was born in Almond to the late Steven and Elaine (Buckholt) Oldakowski.  Gene was a long-time resident of Waupaca and a recent resident of Berlin.   Gene retired in January of 2021 from Lion Apparel, Inc., where he made gloves for firefighters.  He was a member of the Bugle Mouth Bass Club of Berlin. Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving and attending wood carving shows with his best friend, Bill. He also enjoyed attending Country Western Music Concerts.  He most especially enjoyed weekend visits with family.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter: Andrea (fiancée, Janette Kristoff) Betchner; brother: Ben Oldakowski, sister: Marjorie (Bill) Sarnowski; special niece: Jada (Chris) Greiling and daughter: Olivia; special nephew: Jonas (Nikki) Sarnowski; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Abrahamson, and brother, Steve Oldakowski.

Friends and family may gather on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca.  Burial will be in St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
