Darla Hoeppner Obituary

Of Wild Rose, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.  She was born in New London on October 17, 1940 to the late Chester and Gertrude (Bartel) Kempf. Darla graduated from Berlin High School. She married Michael Jakubowski of Berlin in 1958, settling in rural Wild Rose, they later divorced. Darla married Donald Hoeppner in 1999, he preceded her in death in 2015.  Darla owned and operated the Chatterbox Restaurant for a few years, she then worked as a CNA  at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing the piano and accordion and baking. Darla became a resident of Silver Lake Manor in 2017, and subsequently passed away there from complications of a stroke.

She will be missed by her children: Joseph (Arlene) Jakubowski of Muskego; Jamie (Jeff ) Jakubowski Schnell of Waupaca; Jeffrey (Marcia) Jakubowski of Waupaca; Jalaine (Scott) Jakubowski Nitzke of Poy Sippi; Joni Jakubowski of Brookfield; Jason (Patty) Jakubowski of Princeton; Jared (Jessica) Jakubowski of Pewaukee; grandchildren: Michael (Anelise) Jakubowski, Juliana (Sheila) Wischer, Shane (Jennifer) Miller, Brian (April) Miller, Amber (Steve) Ford, Adam (Theresa) Jakubowski, Kelsey (Sheldon) Goggins, Andrew (Nicole) Jakubowski, Brianna (Myles) Klopotek, Jenna (Matthew) Chenow, Kevin Krumrai, Jackie Jakubowski, Michelle Jakubowski, Austin Jakubowski, Bryson Jakubowski, Nickolas Jakubowski, Bradley Jakubowski, and Ava Jakubowski, step-grandchildren: Amanda Drobot, Chad (Alyson) Gehling, Cody Jakubowski and Alicia Jakubowski;  23 great grandchildren,  6 step-great grandchildren; half-sister: Judy Kempf; step- brothers: Jim and John Laird, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Don, she was preceded in death by her step-parents, her sister, Elaine (Norman) Brey and daughter, Jan Louise Jakubowski.

The Memorial Service will be on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home.  The visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Darla will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a beautiful sweet person.
