Audrey Tessen Obituary

We regretfully announce the passing of Audrey H. (Behrent) Tessen of Iola, WI on September 5th, 2021. Audrey was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully at the age of 83 at the Thedacare Hospital in Waupaca.

Our mother, Audrey, was one of the most loving, thoughtful and selfless individuals you could ever meet. She would give sacrificially to help anyone in need. She often reminded us to, “Treat others how you want to be treated.” We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her. We were truly blessed to have her as the glue that held the family together in difficult times. She will be dearly missed.

On May 12, 1956, Audrey married Harold Tessen and together they went on to have six amazing children, two of which have preceded her in death, Donna Jean and Mark Allen.

Audrey was also preceded in death by mother Jesse Behrent, father Harvey Behrent, and siblings: James Behrent, Eugene Behrent, Arthur Behrent, Kenneth Behrent, Paul Behrent, Mary Thomas, Joan Bruso, Shirley Howe, Delores Rusch, Wayne Behrent, and Donna Junke.

Audrey is survived by her sisters, Jean and Joyce, her children, John (Jean), Bruce (Joy), Todd (Michelle), and Chris, her grandchildren, Tina, Johnny, Ben (Raquel), Emmy, Charity, Jeremy (Shaylyn), Holly (Michael), Tiffany (Eric), Joshua, Brittney, Lindsey, Nicole, and Malea, and great grandchildren, Austin, Audrey, Morgan, Rosalind, Savannah, Hailey, Brenna, Hunter, Gracielynn, Brooke, James, Marshall, Emma, Nico, Ria, Isidro, Estevan, Braden, Caitlynn, Carl, and Jake.

We are very grateful for all the help and support we have received the past few years from, not only The Willows in Iola, but the Thedacare Hospital in Waupaca and the great hospice staff.

There will be a Funeral Service on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 12 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home in Waupaca. The visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
