               Lawrence F. Karch, age 79, of Rosholt, WI, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, September 24, 2016.  He was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 24, 1936 to the late Felix and Antonette (Gorecki) Karch.  Lawrence joined the Army in 1957, served in Vietnam from 1969-1970, and retired in 1976 after 20 years of service.  While stationed in Germany, he met Dorothea “Doris” Seitz, and they were married on January 9, 1959 in Nürnberg.  Upon retirement, they bought Karch’s Willow Inn in Rosholt, which they operated until 1995.  He and Doris volunteered at the American Legion Post 509.  He was also a member of the Elks Club, Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 185, and Elderon VFW Post 8068.  His hobbies included reading, pistol shooting, hunting, fishing, and trips to the casino.

               Survivors include his wife, Doris; children: Larry, Jr., David (Denise) and Donna Lochner Weborg (Craig Weborg); daughter-in-law, Kathy Karch; grandchildren: Kody (TL), Kassidy (Jared), Brian (Laura), Sarah (Mike), Mackenzie, Torey, Haelee and Dylan; great-grandson, Aedan; two brothers: Chet and Mike; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

               Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Dodd Lochner; grandson, Brad Kromrie; and three brothers: Jerry, Leroy and Don.

               Family and friends may gather from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI.  A committal service and military honors will be held at 1 p.m. at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI.
