James Davis (Uncle Jim), age 89 of Waupaca, joined his family in heaven on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. He was born to the late Lawrence and Neva Davis on March 1, 1928 in Granton, WI. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Rex, Jack, Bette (McDermott) and Mary Lou (Sroda).
Jim served his country in the U.S. Army, graduated from Central State Teachers College in Stevens Point and received his master’s degree in history from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He taught history at Nicolet High School in Milwaukee for over 30 years.
Jim was an avid traveler and loved his many visits to Hawaii with friends. Every summer he spent at his cabin in the Northwoods. His passions were artwork, music, and reading. He will be remembered for his vast knowledge of history and his witty demeanor.
He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim requested a small private funeral at his cabin. The family would like to thank the staff at Park Vista-The Legacy for the exceptional care they provided.
